ART ATTACK - EXPLORING THE DYNAMIC ART OF THE 20TH CENTURY

Do you love Art Lit in school? Study and reproduce art projects using color as an expressive tool, make creatures using non-realistic color in Franz Marc’ style, use mixed media to create a masterpiece influenced by Cubanism, study Futurism and make art that appears to be in motion, and collaborate on several large paintings influenced by Abstract Expressionism.

SPANISH IS FUN

3D PRINTING- MINECRAFT CREATIONS 3D

Explore the basic concepts of 3D printing and computer-aided design (CAD) to bring your most awesome Minecraft creation to life! Learn how to extrude it into a 3D model that can then be modified to be printed in 3D.

ROAD TRIP THROUGH THE USA

Pack your bags, we are leaving Oregon and going to explore the U.S.A! Explore the United States from the Statue of Liberty all of the way to the Golden Gate Bridge. Create a flour based map of the US. This is a great class to get ready for 5th grade State reports!

LEGO STARWARS ROBOCAMP

3D PRINTING: SUPERHEROES TO THE RESCUE

Camera basics, what makes a good photograph, and an introduction to Adobe Lightroom for basic editing will be covered. Students will showcase their portfolio of nine printed, matted, and signed images, in an art show. Students will need to bring their own digital camera.

CIVIL ENGINEERING

Design, create, test, and refine a balsawood bridge designed to withstand the greatest force. Examine several different types of bridge designs and discover how the forces of tension,
compression, bending, torsion, and shear are distributed throughout their structures.

ALGEBRA - MISSION POSSIBLE!!

Build a strong foundation of basic skills in algebra, which will help you as you continue onto more challenging math classes. Focus will be on combining like terms, tackling positive and negative numbers, solving for X (one parameter), and decoding and graphing y=mx+b. Learn by applying the basic concepts in algebra, by using hand-on materials, by working with other students, and by actively involving in the quest of learning algebra.

UKULELE, VOICE, RECORDERS AND YOU

Explore a variety of musical styles and eras in this performance based class. We will begin by learning songs while working on vocal skills, as well as experiencing, learning, and using scales and rhythm patterns as our vocabulary of music. Students will also learn to play, read, and improvise exciting and beautiful melodies on the flute recorder and learn to accompany voice and recorder on ukulele! We will show off our newly learned skills at an end of the week recital.
