Shopping-Style Food Distribution
Twice weekly food distribution at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Tigard, OR.
Tuesday 1:00pm – 3:30pm
Thursday 5:00pm – 7:30pm
Families come in once per week on either Tuesday or Thursday and select their food items from our inventory. This minimizes food waste in comparison to the pre-packed food box model.
Volunteers
Volunteers are the heart and soul of PWP, performing regular tasks to provide food for our kids and families. Tasks include processing donations, pantry prep and stocking, check-in, floater/runner, pantry assistant, and parking lot attendant.

Donations
Donated funds provide PWP flexibility to buy foods not easily donated, but that are important to a well-rounded offering. Especially for those with food allergies and cultural restrictions. High priority purchases are: milk, butter, eggs, fresh fruits & vegetables, meat/poultry/fish, dairy alternatives and culturally relevant foods such as tortillas, short grain rice and halal protein.
Funds are invested into supplies and equipment needed to keep the program going. Donations are important to the maintenance of our refrigerator and freezer units, and truck rental used to deliver pallets of food.
