Purpose
The purpose of this scholarship is to immortalize the memory of Kim Birk and reward recipients who similarly possess the wholesome attitude and humanitarian attributes that were so naturally and generously embodied by her.

Award
One $1000 scholarship will be awarded to one student graduating from
Tualatin High School.
Scholarship Criteria
- You must be graduating from Tualatin High School in the current academic year.
- You must have a minimum accumulated GPA of at least 3.0 for junior and senior years OR have shown marked academic improvement since sophomore year.
- You must demonstrate commitment to achieving the highest attainable personal level of academic performance. This standard could be demonstrated with a record of improved grades throughout high school or continued achievement while performing substantial outside job or personal/family commitments.
- You must plan on attending an accredited college, university or accredited institution for pursuing a 2-year or 4-year curriculum program and identified a goal of earning a degree or certification.
- You must demonstrate involvement and participation within the high school campus activities.
- You must demonstrate good citizenship, leadership and teamwork while in high school, in the community, and other environments. Leadership may be exhibited through any consistent modeling of positive actions and/or influence.
- You must demonstrate a specific personal goal or achievement in which it took “standing tall” to accomplish such. Must possess personal qualities that challenge the status quo of selflessness and compassion and congeniality towards others. Applicant must have demeanor that by example influences others to action or involvement and can demonstrate a personal history of and commitment to humanitarianism.
- Applicants need for financial assistance will be considered amongst all the other items.
