It is with great honor and pride that we announce the Foundation for Tigard Tualatin Schools has been awarded a $100,000 Community Grant from Lam Research for our “Reconnect Students and Schools” campaign. Lam Research’s support will be combined with the other valuable campaign donations, and distributed to our 16 district schools through the Foundation’s School Grant program. Schools will apply for School Grant dollars to hire part-time teachers for 2021-22 that will help reconnect students and schools.
Reconnection can come in many forms through part-time staff – smaller math/reading/writing groups, after school homework clubs, after school extras such as mini robotics, sports, drumline or choir, building social skills and coping tools or offering specialties within a class, e.g. yoga during PE, advanced percussion during band, textile artists during art. “Lam Research has been a cherished partner of FTTS for 5 years. We are grateful to have such a dynamic relationship with Lam. Their team has been open to listening to our district’s changing needs. They view public schools as a very important part of their community, and are willing to increase their investment in them,” states executive director, Margie Greene. We appreciate Lam Research’s support of TTSD schools and look forward to an invigorating 2021-2022 school year!
