COOKING & BAKING

Learn the basics of how to cook and bake, including measuring ingredients, seasoning food, and various cooking techniques.

ART ATTACK - EXPLORING THE DYNAMIC ART OF THE 20TH CENTURY
Do you love Art Lit in school? Study and reproduce art projects using color as an expressive tool, make creatures using non-realistic color in Franz Marc’ style, use mixed media to create a masterpiece influenced by Cubanism, study Futurism and make art that appears to be in motion, and collaborate on several large paintings influenced by Abstract Expressionism.

SPANISH IS FUN
Learn the basics of Spanish in a fun atmosphere through role play, art and music. Vocabulary will include the Spanish alphabet, numbers, colors, greeting and goodbyes, animals, family members and food.

WEIRD SCIENCE
Learn the properties of states of matter. Experiment with unusual materials including water, salt, and colloids. Learn why things act the way they act and the science behind them.

YOGA, ART & MINDFULNESS
Yoga, art and mindfulness all have positive outcomes for kids that include reduced stress, anxiety, greater ability to manage emotions, and increased empathy. Class will consist of a mixture of all these subjects.

THEATRE PRODUCTION FOR KIDS
Come join the act. Have a fun filled time learning songs, drama skills and all that goes into making a great production. Make the set and learn choreography and blocking for a short play. Final performance will be Friday afternoon.

LEGO STARWARS ROBOCAMP
Inspired by NASA and Star Wars, this class combines themes known from science fiction films with our current knowledge about the Universe and is packed full of models and games that will make your imagination blast off! 3D PRINTING: SUPERHEROES TO THE RESCUE
Explore the basic concepts of 3D printing and computer-aided design (CAD), to design and create our very own 3D printed superhero! Take your hand drawn design and learn how to extrude it into a 3D model that can then be modified to be printed in 3D.

DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY
Camera basics, what makes a good photograph, and an introduction to Adobe Lightroom for basic editing will be covered. Students will showcase their portfolio of nine printed, matted, and signed images, in an art show. Students will need to bring their own digital camera.

INTRO TO SIGN LANGUAGE
CIVIL ENGINEERING
Design, create, test, and refine a balsawood bridge designed to withstand the greatest force. Examine several different types of bridge designs and discover how the forces of tension,
compression, bending, torsion, and shear are distributed throughout their structures.

ALGEBRA - MISSION POSSIBLE!!
Build a strong foundation of basic skills in algebra, which will help you as you continue onto more challenging math classes. Focus will be on combining like terms, tackling positive and negative numbers, solving for X (one parameter), and decoding and graphing y=mx+b. Learn by applying the basic concepts in algebra, by using hand-on materials, by working with other students, and by actively involving in the quest of learning algebra.

ELECTRONIC INVENTIONS WITH CODE CONTROL

Take out the hammer and anvil and learn to form, solder, hammer, and finish three stack rings in Silver.

MAKE A SHORT FILM FOR YOU TUBE
Learn and participate in the art of filmmaking from the process of brainstorming, determining premise, writing script, pre-production planning such as location scouting and planning video shots. Technology will be used to find music, place video and audio, edit and compress each team’s film for You-Tube.

ACT/SAT PREP
